Beware if getting refurbished

Gab00n 1/21/2020

very slim, not heavy, and has a nice screen. It's good for lightweight tasks. There a few exclusive features that are attractive at first but often are more frustrating to use than convenient. One example is the connectivity to samsung smartphones through NFC and the samsung Flow app. Connections randomly worked sometimes and refused to work on other occasions. awesome when it works, but simply was not reliable enough to be useful. The other feature is the Type-C port. this is great because i only need one charger for both this computer and my phone. This is the only port apart from the headphone jack, however, and that wouldn't have been problematic if the battery life was not so bad. It did not hold a charge from full even when powered down. Some charge loss is expected, but it would often be nearly dead after a day without use when powered off from a full charge. This means that I couldn't use the Type-C port to connect flash drives and such until I first charged it up, which means I could rarely just pick it up and get to work. The keyboard went south after a year. Three keys popped out of the keyboard and the touchpad quit working. I would consider this as a second PC for light tasks. Performance was good, but then I only used it for school (reading and editing PDFs).

Good but....

Fixthisplease 5/16/2019

There is one major issue with this tablet and apparently it is very common. When the tablet turns off it is almost impossible to turn back on. You have to magically guess which combination of buttons to push and how long to hold them. I've seen a lot of different tips on how to turn it on and sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. It depends what kind of mood the tablet is in apparently. I usually make sure to plug it in before the battery dies so I don't have to deal with this problem but I forgot two nights ago and haven't been able to turn it on since. Honestly I actually like the tablet aside from this one glaring issue, but it is so not worth the frustration.

Love my TabProS

infinitysamsung 4/28/2017

The TabProS has been great for the year I have had it. Screen is amazing and playing games on the touchscreen is awesome. I have Microsoft office and it works great for work as well, although definitely get a mouse if you need to do some advanced excel. Overall I love it and Samsung flow is really cool.

BADLY DESIGNED KEYBOARD - Magnets too strong

nycpaull 4/6/2017

TABPRO S NOT RECOGNIZING THE KEYBOARD - magnets pulled out. The magnet in the keyboard is too powerful. The tablet is actually pulling the magnetic strip out of the keyboard. I went to the Samsung service desk and they connected another keyboard to my tablet which worked. The tech rep then noticed that the magnetic strip on my keyboard was actually being pulled out of its slot on the keyboard face where as the on his keyboard the magnet strip barely moved. SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE KEYBOARD or the MAGNETS USED ARE TOO STRONG. If the magnet strip is pulled that far out of its slot and that slot connects tablet electronics to the keyboard then no wonder the keyboard is not recognized. THE ONLY WAY THAT MAGNETIC STRIP COULD BE PULLED OUT OF ITS SLOT IS WHEN YOU TRY TO DISCONNECT THE TABLET. THAT IS A DESIGN FLAW AND SAMSUNG SHOULD REPLACE SUCH KEYBOARDS. A person doesn't go digging the magnets out of the keyboard. The table responds to the bad keyboard connection with a notice about not recognizing a USB connection. When the Samsung tech connect my tablet to a good keyboard, he found he had to update the USB Device Manager files so the tablet worked with his keyboard.

Nice windows tablet

Trask 2/11/2017

I was surprised how fast this tablet is, and very thin and light. The keyboard is included, and that is great. The pen and port dock are extra but priced very affordably now. All work great, I would recommend this to my friends and family, and I have :)

touchrules 2/3/2017

The tablet surprised me. The AMOLED display is gorgeous! Trackpad is very responsive and supports multi-touch and gestures. The keyboard is nicely laid out and easy to touch type on. With only 4 GB of ram, this tablet is snappy.

Almost a 5

HOUSTONIAN234 1/30/2017

Honestly the tab is amazing, the only thing that keeps it from being perfect is the unacceptable quality of the keyboard. In addition to being cheap and flimsy, one of my buttons fell just off within 24hours of buying it.

Excellent display and snappy performance

JLPhilly47 1/29/2017

I purchased the TabPro S as an affordable alternative to competitor devices. The HD display is the best. Crystal Clear. It has quick performance as well for everyday use and streaming. Improvements could include different keyboard keys as it is easy to hit the wrong key and I have to concentrate when typing. Also the trackpad is good but is right at the edge so sometimes when it is on my lap it gets interfered with. All in all, a great buy!

budj33 1/15/2017

The TabPro S has surprising performance considering the M3 processor. It handles the Microsoft Office demands I have plus the Adobe Photoshop and InDesign needs as well. The battery life and portability compared to my Surface Pro 4 make this my go to Tablet to accompany me. Great product. Only wish is a lighted keyboard,

Good Idea, Bad Follow up

Frosty219 1/10/2017

Overall this is a 2 star table. The accompanied keyboard is the only nice feature. The design is well thought out but the implementation was not of Samsung quality. The tablet decides not to come on at extremely inconvenient times. The screen dims after 1 minute of inactivity with no ability to influence. The keyboard in a closed configuration scratches the screen. The lack of capability to expand external storage is a big limiter for me.

There's greatness, but....If not for a few flaws, this would be 5 stars across the board

SaddenedByNote5InTX 9/13/2016

The Good: The screen is gorgeous, it's the perfect size, and it would be great for note taking (which is the primary reason I bought it.) The performance, for the M3 chip, is quite acceptable for light office usage/note taking (see below how horrible that is!) Battery life and boot time are both very good. The bad: No 4G-LTE option in the USA. No expansion ports (except for the single USB-C port.) They surely could have fit a Micro-SD slot in there somewhere, especially given that the device only has a 128 GB SSD. 4 GB of RAM is also "low-end" in this day and age. 8-16 GB of RAM would be a whole lot more appealing. To expand on the USB-C problem; I have tried several different hubs that provide power as well as USB-A/SD ports. However, I've yet to find one that will support fast charging (or charging at all) while using the included ports. Also, I've found that the USB-C port is quite flaky. Sometimes, I have to turn the plug over, or jiggle it a bit get it to be seen properly by the tablet. Sometimes, the tablet flat out refuses to see what's plugged in in the USB-C port. The ugly: Palm rejection is horrendous, if not non-existent. I have been taking notes on tablets since the very first Samsung Note 10.1, then migrating to the Note Pro 12.2. They both had excellent palm rejection, and I never had any problem (other than the hobbled version of OneNote available on Android.) I then migrated to the Microsoft Surface book. Its pen was extremely comfortable and palm rejection was excellent. I also have an iPad Pro 12.9 and its palm rejection is flawless as well. Which brings me to the TabPro S. The pen itself is much less comfortable than the 1st and/or 3rd party pens that were available on ALL of the aforementioned tablets. On the TabPro S, I get erratic lines from where my palm touches the screen, sometime a line zips across the screen from my palm to where the pen is touching the screen. This is heart-breaking as I'd REALLY love to be using the TabPro S as my primary note taker (with the full-blown MS Office OneNote 2016.) As it stands, I'm back to using my iPad Pro as my primary note taking device, while holding out some hope that Samsung will figure out how to get palm rejection right. Should that happen, I will instantly be back to using the TabPro S for note taking. It also seems that Samsung does not have it together when it comes to this tablet. The nightmare reports of Samsung customer service reps saying that there isn't a pen for this tablet are ridiculous. Samsung needs to decide what they want to do with this tablet. Right now, it feels to me, like it's being treated as a step-child or an experiment. It doesn't seem to me like they are doing much advertising or promoting of this tablet, which, despite all of its flaws, is still a joy to use (for the things that work well on it.)

I lovethis tablet!

bstaton55 9/7/2016

I've had a Samsung Android tablet for years, which I love. I've always wanted a Windows tablet that could live up to the ease of use and stability I've always had with Samsung. This tablet fits all these needs and then some! The screen is gorgeous, it's fast and has been reliable so far. The only major thing I think that it's missing is a Micro SD slot which I hope that they add back in in future releases. Overall I am very happy with this tablet and look forward to using it. :)

GREAT Tablet and computer

RNguySC 9/2/2016

this is a great tablet and computer combination. I bought it with hesitation however i am impressed by the productivity and features this tablet has to offer,. the only flaw i have noticed this far are the keys on the keyboard easily become dislodged, and typing is a little difficult (small keys and keyboard), however that is subjective so im not including that in my flaws. this is a great machine. battery life with mild to moderate use lasted a full work day; battery watching videos all day drained the batter fasted as to be expected, I am loyal to the samsung brand, i have galaxy phone and soon will have the Gear S3...i love the brand and products. Definitely worth it!

Love this tablet/computer... Quickly becoming one of my favorite devices.

jp6304 8/29/2016

I wasn't sure it could replace my laptop but within minutes of using it I was hooked. The Galaxy TabPro S is the perfect combination of portability and utility. It is incredibly light yet has the power for basic, everyday computing tasks. Not sure about more processor-intensive tasks but it meets my needs. The display is awesome and the overall build quality is superb. Battery life is great as well. Thank you Samsung for including the keyboard/case as that was a significant factor in my decision to go with this device. Also love that it pairs with my Note 7 for unlocking Windows and on screen notifications from my phone. The only con I have is that I wish it had one more port, either usb-c or usb-a so that it was easier to charge with other devices connected. Otherwise I am extremely happy with this purchase.

This device is attractive, the OS handles well on a tablet and is very portable, overall if the price was reduced it would be a much better value. M core is good, but for the price give me 8g of ram.

Beautiful display, poor design

JarrettV 7/29/2016

The most beautiful display you can get on a laptop/tablet. However, Samsung did not put a "standard" USB-C port on this device. It doesn't work with most USB-C hubs and it doesn't work with most USB-C chargers and that is poor design. Also, it should have at least 2 USB-C ports so you are not required to buy a hub. The keyboard is below average. It always takes longer than it should to feel out the keys. Also, one of the keys popped off and it will not pop back on. Very poor design. Sometimes the device refuses to turn on even when the battery is full. It is just very flaky and not ready for mass consumers.

Excellent features

David1349 7/26/2016

I bought the Galaxy Tab Pro S mainly because of the SOMLED screen. It is beautiful, with rich colors and fantastic resolution. It is incredibly light. The operating system boots up in a mater of a few seconds. It is not loaded with bloat software and is fast. The one thing I wish is that it had two USB-C connectors. I use the one USB-C for my wireless mouse connection and have to switch it out if I want to load new software or connect a external portable disk drive.

Odyseeus 7/13/2016

Samsung is very innovative and technologically driven. Anyone can use their products. This Samsung Galaxy TabPro S is both a tablet and a laptop. It does what a laptop does with the added convenience of a tablet. I use it for my home-based business as well as personal use. It is powerful, fast, convenient and I can take it anywhere. Perfect tablet for me.

Andy80 7/1/2016

I've had my new tablet for about 2 weeks now and I have to say that it is everything I thought it would be from what I read in the specs and reviews. It absolutely replaced my laptop, which was 5 1/2 years old. So if you're coming from an older laptop like me you're probably gonna be pleasantly surprised with the performance of this tablet. Performance. I don't consider myself a "power user" or anything like that. When I read reviews from people who have 10+ tabs in Chrome open with a dozen other programs running all at once I wonder how they keep track of everything. I use my computer mostly for Photoshop, Autocad LT and entertainment with some light word processing, spreadsheets and gaming. The most I have open at one time is an 11x17 Photoshop file, 300-600 dpi with 5-10 layers, probably 2 tabs in Edge and Windows Media Player for music OR Autocad LT with 2-3 files open, a couple tabs in Edge, Windows Media Player for music, an Excel spreadsheet and notepad. So far I am totally satisfied with the performance of the tablet. There hasn't been any slowdown at all or skipping of music while doing stuff in Photoshop or Autocad. I'm really looking forward to getting the pen so I can try that out in photoshop too. The screen. Everyone was right, the screen is amazing. For movies and games it's fantastic. The dimming every minute or two was annoying at first but I don't mind it anymore. I never notice it while I'm working or gaming becuase I'm always giving some kind of input. It doesn't do it while watching movies thankfully. The screen seems like it can get very bright to me. I work indoors during the day with it at about 50% brightness and that works great for me. Watching movies at night while my wife is sleeping I turn it all the way down and it's not bright enough to wake her up like my laptop was which is nice. The speakers are surprisingly loud which is nice. I usually listen to them at about 70% while I'm working and that seems pretty good as long as you have the volume in WMP turned all the way up too. I'm not saying that they're the best speakers ever but I was not expecting them to sound as good as they do. The keyboard does take some getting used to but I'm coming off of an 11" laptop and an ATIV 500t so I'm pretty used to smaller keyboards. I'll just throw this in here, I'm 6'3" and my hands are probably more on the large size and I'm able to type on the keyboard with few mistakes. Most of them are because the layout is a little different from my laptop so when I go to use backspace I hit the = key instead or every once in a while I will hit two keys at once. I have yet to accidentally touch the screen while reaching for the top buttons. There are only two viewing angles with the keyboard cover but I've found that they're just about right for every place I've had to use my tablet. One thing I will note is that you might want to be a little careful if you're picking up the device from underneath the keyboard, it gave me a scare when if felt like the tablet was going to fall over backward. So just keep a hand on the tablet when you lift and you should be fine. The fact that it's not backlight doesn't really bother me either. It would be a nice feature but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. There is a little light on the Caps Lock button to remind you that it's on though, which is nice. The trackpad is a little funky in my opinion. Not that it doesn't work well, it's just that it's not very tall but kinda wide so when I go for a right click with it I end up just left clicking because I didn't reach over far enough. Other than that it's got good feel and nice clicking when you hit the buttons. I only have a Galaxy S5 so I can't make us of or comment on Samsung Flow. As far as only having the one USB-C port, I don't mind it that much. I already had a bluetooth mouse so I don't need a usb port for that. I bought a cheap ($9.99) USB-C to USB adapter when I bought the tablet so I can access all my stuff on my external hard drive and since the battery lasts so long there has only been one time where I wanted to grab something off the drive but I was charging. Storage. Yeah it only has 128GB but I have everything I need on it with a game I don't actually "need" and I still have like 28GB free. Like I said before, I don't consider myself a power user though. Also I'm starting to use cloud storage a little more after I lost some data and forgot to back it up so that helps too. Would it be nice if they put a MicroSD card slot on this thing? Yeah, of course. Do I think there's plenty of room for one on this thing? Yeah, of course. But I also read specs and reviews before I spend my hard earned cash on stuff so I knew what I was getting into. Battery life. When I work I'm always near an outlet but I've been trying to not plug in so I can test this out. I don't have exact hours but I use it for work most of the day, it's not on all the time, it turns off when I take breaks or am on a long phone call and I don't ever have to plug it in until later in the evening. So it has to have some pretty awesome battery life Just a note on gaming if anyone is interested, it scored a 2653 on the FFXIV Heavensward benchmark with standard laptop settings, 1366x768 resolution which look pretty darn good still. There were some spots where it got kinda choppy but it ran pretty darn well. Actually I tried it again in a cooler environment and it scored around 3400 with these settings. I guess my warm apartment was effecting it. It scored just a little over 1000 on standard laptop settings with native resolution. Likewise, it plays SWTOR on low settings flawlessly and on medium with some slight chop but I still play it on medium. I don't have FFXIV to actually play so I can't comment on how well it runs with actual gameplay. PROBLEMS So for I've only had one problem with my new tablet. For some reason the bluetooth is on the fritz. It works for a while and then completely dissappears from my computer, doesn't show up in settings or in the device manager. Just, gone.... I chatted with Samsung help and they were able to fix it by downloading the driver from the Samsung Update program and reinstalling it but a couple hours later the same thing happened. So now a few times a day it drops out and I have to spend time deleting drivers and installing drivers trying to get it to show back up. I assume this is a driver problem but what do I know. I'm working with Samsung to try and get if figured out and as soon as it's fixed I will happily give this tablet a 5 star rating.

Great Product

bbrazeal 6/23/2016

This tablet is excellent. It has great battery life, a great screen, and fast performance. The keyboard is alright and works great on a flat surface. It is a little flimsy, and bows a little bit while in the lap. It performs great, I would recommend the samsung adapter to add more ports! Great Device.

Good alternative to the Surface

dragonbiker 5/25/2016

I went with this over the Surface because of the included keyboard. The display is great as expected from a high end Samsung device. The processor is powerful enough to handle most apps. The keyboard keys are too close together for me, I manage to hit more than one key at a time. Could be better for someone with smaller fingers. The keyboard cover/stand is a little flimsy. A good bump on the table might knock it over. Audio is pretty good. The cameras stopped working after a month. Had to send it in for repair and am still waiting for it to come back. Don't know if it was a software or hardware related issue.

An amazing tablet

TechMan14 5/19/2016

I was debating on getting a full sized high performance laptop or a Surface tablet. Then I came across the TabPro S. What an amazing tablet. It costs less than a Surface, and it comes with a keyboard and trackpad! I'm still getting used to Windows 10, but this tablet PC boots in seconds. And all of the programs I use (Chrome, Adobe Reader, Office) open within a second. I am completely blown away by the performance. This tablet PC has dramatically exceeded my expectations. The screen brightness has many levels. And at its brightest setting, I can still use it in direct sunlight! And the battery life is amazing too! The USB type C is amazingly fast at transferring files. It took about 7 minutes to load files onto my flash drive from my laptop and it took less than a minute to transfer the same files to my TabPro S!

Wouldn't turn on after 2 weeks of owning

Kizzybaby 5/10/2016

After 2 weeks I was unable to get device to turn on. I bought this product to use as an extension to my laptop when having to be on the go and still having to work. When the tablet refused to power on it was at the most inconvenient time. Thankfully I didn't have any documents saved on the device. Aside from that I found the size and weight to be great but would have loved to have more ports for external attachments.

Not disappointed

Sandman52 5/8/2016

I bought my TabPro S after pondering a surface pro, an actually after having a smaller windows table that just didn't perform as I wanted. My TabPro S arrived as I was leaving town, so I set it up from the road and it was effortless and to date this tablet has been my constant companion ( I use it for work). At first I was hoping for greater memory, but with my OneDrive account and my portable harddrive (also a Samsung) I am not wanting for greater space. Simply I love my TabPro S!

A lot to like

BensUncle 5/7/2016

I've had mine for a month and really like it. Positives - screen, weight, size, battery life, USB-C fast charging.. Keyboard is ok but I do have to pay attention when typing to minimize mistakes. Negatives - magnets holding tablet to case should be stronger. It is too easy to accidentally pull apart, especially on an airplane tray table. I had to buy a clip to securely clamp the tablet to the case. Overall I give it 5 stars because it is the best computer for the road warrior. And it simply disappears into my luggage.

Love the tablet, keyboard is lacking

TDonald 5/3/2016

I love the speed and performance of the tablet and the display is amazing. The keyboard is not durable. One of the keys on the keyboard has broke off and I cant find a replacement key nor can I get a replacement keyboard because its not covered under manufacture warranty. Very frustrating for the money spent.

Really wanted to love this device...

GAHumphrey 4/26/2016

Samsung gets an A+++ on concept and design. They get a straight C on execution. The Good: This tablet is as gorgeous as the reviews say. It is incredibly thin and very well made. Of course the display also lives up to the hype. The AMOLED screen is absolutely to die for. Second to none. The M3 processor is also very snappy and performed just fine for my day to day activities which include heavy usage of PowerPoint, MS Word, Excel and Outlook. No lag at all. Performs way better than my i5 Surface Pro 3 which I wasn't expecting. The not so good/bad: Samsung did a really poor job of implementing the USB-C standard. None of the aftermarket USB-C hubs work properly and I've tried six so far including the Dell Dock, the HP Elite USB-C, HooToo, Aukey and more. I really wanted to replace my Surface Pro, but you can't use this device with an external monitor AND charge it at the same time, even though all of these adapters would allow me to do use an external monitor with my MacBook 12 inch. The device sporadically goes into a coma and won't wake up until I fiddle with the Power button, the volume down button, etc. Once it goes into it's coma, you can't wake it back up with the power plugged in. Strange... I also experienced way too many crashes and reboots including both the blue screen of death and the rarely seen red screen of death. Hopefully the Samsung engineers will catch up quickly with some much needed BOIS patches and driver updates to have this work as intended. Buyer beware. I'll most likely be keeping the device on a leap of faith that the bugs will be worked out. Sadly that means I need to keep my Surface for a while longer as well.

Great product with some missing features

321123 4/19/2016

No micro sd card, no backlit keyboard and no kickstand like on the surface and screen resolution is not that high, otherwise it's a great product! Very slim and light ,OLED screen is a first at this size and the best, good performance for my needs.

NEW TOY

samsungbelieve 4/17/2016

I couldn't wait until this product was released. Who was I kidding when I said I was not going to get this product. New sleek design, windows, and its something I have been looking for. I also love that it comes with a keyboard unlike other companies that would rather sell you the keyboard. Product is fast, keyboard responds great. I recommend this product. The one thing for some people would be the cost. Samsung nailed it again!!

Alot of WOW packed into the Galaxy TabPro S 12" 128GB

N0ISV 4/17/2016

WOW is the biggest word to describe the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S 12" 128GB 2 in 1. As a long time user of Samsung tech devices, this new TabPro S packs alot of WOW into a very small package. FAST LIGHT WEIGHT GOOD SIZE LONG BATTERY LIFE RIGHT BALANCE OF RAM AND SSD I bought the S7 Edge to work with the TabPro S. The S7 Edge is packed with WOW also. This is the BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK out there.

Excellent Product

GooseSlapper 4/13/2016

The Samsung TabPro S is an all round excellent unit. The tablet itself couldn't be much better. Very crisp, clear screen and much faster than I thought an M3 processor would be. I do "medium" duty computer use of this device and I've yet to have it stutter like I thought an m3 with only 4 gigs of RAM would do. I'm replacing a Surface 3 with this device and the speed improvement is fantastic. That also included Wifi transfers which are 3 times faster than my Surface. I like that the keyboard is light weight and included. My only negative is that I wish it attached more securely. It's already dropped to the floor once on an airplane so it's something you need to be careful of. Also wish the keyboard had a bit more travel on keys and was backlit, but I can work with it the way that it is. That aside, it's an all round excellent device.

the most beautiful screen ever

qdewolf 4/11/2016

the screen has such a pure black that when a video I was watching faded to black between scenes I thought it had turned off. multimedia playback is stunning with the display and the speakers are pretty good too. the only thing missing would be more storage (256GB).

Simply Amazing

Lew616 4/8/2016

I've been a Samsung Fan ever since purchasing the Note 2 (which is still working to this day, I gave it to my sister to replace her S3 that got broken). I have to admit, when I saw that Samsung was releasing a Windows 10 Tablet, I had many doubts. But this machine quickly exceeded my expectations in typical Samsung fashion. From the moment I turned it on until now, there hasn't been any problems, it simply performs flawlessly. From gaming to work applications to video streaming, it's simply amazing. The only thing I miss is my S-Pen. A 4G connection would probably bring more customers, but since I always have my Note 4 handy and it's a mobile hotspot, I don't really see the need for a separate internet connection (which would just be one more battery draining device in the tablet anyway). Battery life is good except when I'm gaming and even then it's comparable to gaming on my Note 10.1 and Tab S. Charging is extremely fast, using my car charger I can go from 30% to about 80-90% charge during my 1 hour commute to work. The only frustrating thing I can say about this tablet is that there is no Scroll Bar Function on the touchpad, you actually have to move the mouse pointer to the scroll bar and repeated click on the scroll arrows in the application. Great Job, Samsung!
