I purchased this tablet after being an Apple customer for years. I owned an iPad 2 for 10 years and it was great and used it every day until it became obsolete because IOS could not update any longer. It was virtually unusable because it was to old! Plus Apply makes it impossible to use any of their products without buying their apps, accessories, downloads, etc and that sucks because they make it that way to sell more of their products! Battery also started not holding a charge and it was big and clunky. So...a month ago I purchased my Galaxy Tab A and I LOVE it! Had to get use to using a different type tablet since the Galaxy Tab A is just like a computer. After I downloaded the uses manual and read it...using it is easier than an iPad and I am in love! Will NEVER buy another Apply product ever again!

Had it a year almost to date and the thing just quit, dead. Can not get it started up. Bought it through Amazon and looking back now I should have purchased an extended warranty but my Samsung Galaxy has been fine so I trusted that this tablet would be good. I bought this Galaxy Tab A through C***co thinking that I could buy the stylus pen later - I was wrong even though I did a lot of research. I even called Samsung support and they told me the stylus pen would work with this tablet - WRONG! Carefully note the model numbers: Tab A w/o stylus pen: SM-T580 (T for touch?) Does not work with stylus pen Tab A with stylus pen: SM-P580 (P for pen?) The SM-P580 definitely has a different hardware configuration than the SM-T580. Bottom line: DO NOT BUY the SM-T580 if you need to use a stylus pen. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the difficulty in trying to buy the right tablet.

I bought this a month ago and I love it. the website says that you can get up to 13 hours of battery life. I get five days 15 hours. the tablet has a big screen but is not so big that it makes my laptop feel like a 5 inch smartphone. My only complaint is that the thing nearly died. it was saved by pluging it in and giving a hard reset. My previous table had a weak processor that failed me within 6 months of getting the thing. this tablet restored my faith in tablets.

Purchased the Tab A 10.1 new. Have had it 3 days. When it works, it is fine, but there is a problem where the display goes off by itself, and pressing the power button does not turn it back on. I found I can shake the tablet and it comes back on but is inconsistent. At one point, the display would only stay visible for a few seconds and then shut off. I tried setting the timeout to turn the display off to several minutes, but the display still would go off randomly before the timeout would be reached. Will be returning for an exchange. Rating would be 4-5 if not for this display problem, which I hope is an issue only with this specific tablet.

I loved my Apple Ipad 2 untill it was no longer supported by the latest IOS versions and it became unstable - essentially useless. Since I didn't want to spend so much money on another Ipad, I bought the Tab A 10" and have had no regrets in over a year that I have it. At first I did not like it, adjusting took me a little bit of time. However, since then I am completely satisfied and use this tablet all day, every day. It is very reliable, charges quickly and the 32gid total memory package I bought is more than sufficient of rmy needs. FIFI works perfectly and the full suite of google apps work great. The price is unbeatable. I did go out and buy a good case for it ($19) on Amazon and recommend doing so for any tablet. I am considering getting the Tab A - for another use and it too is a steal!

i have a Samsung tab A6 (wifi + 4G), from the time a bought it i get all the time update for tablet system, the problem is that update is so bad, infact, right now my tablet can't recognize the full storage on it, it get blocked a lot of time, i start thinking so serious to go to IPAD i guess its time to move on , now i trying to go back to the first version that i bought with (at least it was more stable then all these updates). think god i've never change my galaxy s6 edge version.

I've owned this Tablet almost 3 years and it's been great no issues at all "Until" now the battery will not hold the charge while on the charging cord and after purchasing multiple charging cords that work for a while and then the battery just starts dying all over again and it dies fast. I tried clearing everything out and maximizing my battery and it works and then fails.... purchasing a new battery and getting someone to install is proving difficult..... Love Samsung Galaxy Tabs!

While the tablet works well you advertise 16gb that you have system software using 14gb. We put in a memory card and we cannot download these large apps on it and we cannot move them either. What you should say is we get 2GB of usable space and unless we are taking pictures the SD Card is worthless

A Brick After a Little More Than 1-1/2 years

Bought new in Dec. 2016 and enjoyed it while I could. It has been used relatively lightly, a few hours on the weekends generally, sometimes not for weeks. Now in August 2018 it won't charge or turn on. From what I've seen online when researching the issue this seems to be a common problem with many Samsung tablets going back several years. Why hasn't this been addressed by Samsung? Unfortunately none of the fixes I found has brought my tablet back to life. Of course it's now out of warranty and the cost to ship and have repaired is likely more than I paid for the tablet. I'll have to think long and hard before investing my hard earned cash into another Samsung tablet. Wasn't expecting to own a brick after such a short time.

Neither did the company I purchased it from!! Of course, I didnt find this out until it was too late to return it!! Thats always how things in life work I guess. LONG BATTERY LIFE...FAST PROCESSOR

I previously owned a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. The high definition screen and thin profile was awesome, but the battery life was very short and the processor was not good for gaming. This new Tab A has awesome battery life and a very fast processor excellent for gaming. The only complaint I have is that the storage capacity is almost 50% used up by system apps and additional Samsung, Android and Microsoft Apps that I really do not want or need. I have turned several of them off because you cannot delete them and I still am at almost 50% storage used. I bought a 64 GB external SD card, but the issue I have with that follows. I have downloaded one fairly demanding game and moved it to the external SD card. It is 900 MB and only 103 MBs have moved to the external storage. I do not understand why the entire game does not move out there which would provide me with more internal storage. Other than that...for the price...this tablet really is a good value and I would recommend it.

if I could walk away with this tablet with it being able to withstand some minor impact this would be a great product. However, after purchasing this in December and within 3 weeks later seeing it fall 2 1/2 feet to the living room floor and glass shattering and then finding that the repair cost is $3 shy of the purchase price, it's just money down the drain. There is no doubt the tablet fell because it was placed in a bad spot and was clearly a human error but it shuld be able to withstand some impact. Would not recommend.

I purchased this tablet as a replacement for the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 that mysteriously disappeared. After multiple searches and procrastination efforts, I decided to stay with what I know that works - Samsung. This tablet exceeds what I had in the 9.7 in many ways. The size, be it only a 1/2 inch larger, makes a huge difference. The sensitivity is far better that my previous tablet but not overly sensitive. Next, the battery life on this is amazing! Out of the box, with it 70% charged, uploading and downloading updates and needed apps, lasted more than two days of a good bit of use. The bloatware that is pre-installed is somewhat hefty but not as bad as many other tablets I have used or read reviews on. This tablet's Wi-Fi connection is very fast and stable. It connects strong to my 2.4 and 5 ghz connection, even from several meters away. I decided to go with this tablets without the S Pen to save a few dollars but now I wish I had spent the money and gotten it. The resolution on this tablet is a good HD at 1280/800, an improvement over the Tab A 9.7". The camera takes stunning photos and videos with automatic saving to the SD Card. YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Video and more look very good with streaming video. I added a a128 Gb micro SD card, the max it will allow, but the internal memory is 32 Gb, much better than the other tabs I looked at with just 16 Gb. Overall, I definitely love this tablet and would highly recommend it to anyone considering or looking for something new.

so, it is not an ipad, but i dont need much of what the ipad has to offer. For exaple, i dont need a credit card attahcment, or even gps. This tab A 10.1 has excellent screen resolution, i added a memory card so it has plenty of memory, downloaded my favorite apps from the 'play store', It does email (aquamail), documents (officesuite and evernote), movies (amazon, netflix via chrome and youtube), music (pandora, spotify), passwords (lastpass), virus protection (lookout). Do I need other stuff? Maybe, not yet. wish it had fingerprint recognition, much faster log in.

I ordered the white one and love the crisp, clean look. Having a larger screen is also a great benefit. The display, photo and sound quality are far superior to my previous tablet.
