Great feature & bad battery

I bought the classic Galaxy Watch 4. It has good features, but with very normal use, its battery does not last even a day! . Please fix the problem with the next update. Thank you

SOS and Fall detection does not work

Bought watch from AT&T due to it having the SOS and fall detection due to my health issues back in January. I have dizziness and sometimes pass out and fall. The first time I did watch did nothing, second still did nothing. The second time I passed out and once I came to I was at least able to call for help from the watch. The watch I got from AT&T was the LTE version which had it's own number thank goodness or I would have to wait till I could get to my cell phone to make a call for help.
So after 3 calls to AT&T tech support which the told me to call mobile insurance people which I did twice and got no where and 3 calls to Samsung tech support and finally told to send watch to them to check and see what is wrong with watch. With past products of Samsung and having to do without a product for a long time to get it back I can assure this company I will never purchase anything Samsung.

I have had this watch for about 3 months and today was the first time I took it for a walk/exercise. I left my Samsung Note 20 Ultra at home and paired my fully charged Samsung ear buds with my FULLY charged 100% Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. During the course of this 3.5 mile 1 hour walk my watch stated it was overheating and went into sleep mode 7 times for about 2-3 minutes each time. I was only streaming Pandora from the watch to my ear buds the entire time; which of course would pause each time the overheating issue occurred. At the end of the 3.5 mile / 1 hour walk my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic went from 100% charge to 44% charge; this is absolutely pitiful. My wife who was also walking with me had Apple Watch 4 and Apple ear buds streaming the entire time and her watch went from 100% to 89% at the end of the same distance. Very disappointing; I guess I will have to just use the watch for telling time and NOT run any apps if I want it to run for more than half a day. Very disappointed.

I have only owned this watch for 3 days, it was an upgrade from the Galaxy Active 2. So far it is great! Upon unboxing and initial setup I had an overheating issue happen twice. However: It had a watch software update that downloaded and then I restarted my watch and that issue went away. I have the LTE version and tested this with a 2 hour workout. No issues with overheating. The sensor information is pretty good with this watch as well. Overall I am really enjoying it!
My first tasks were: install Google keyboard (gboard). Full keyboard with swype capabilities! Then YouTube music for all my YouTube music playlists. Then I set up Google pay. Having both gpay and Samsung pay is awesome!
Battery life: I have done 2 30 minute workouts per day with this, and on day 1 did 1 30 and 1 1hour workout. The battery lasted all night. So these reviews complaining about both battery and overheating: Be sure and check the review dates as the latest firmware/software update appears to have fixed these issues. I was worried about these when I first got my watch.
So far I would recommend this to my friends.

I've owned the Gear S, Gear S2, Gear S2 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Classic, Galaxy watch, Galaxy watch active 1 and 2 and now the Galaxy watch 4 classic which is by far the best one yet. The only thing Samsung watches were missing was the support of Play store and now the Watch 4 has it!

This should be a good watch. The battery life is a big issue. It was pretty good, and out of the blue it started draining really fast this week. It wouldn't even last through the day now, and I haven't changed any settings on it. I have the LTE version and have read this complaint about it. I might be returning this watch.

I bought this watch about a month ago and I love how fast it is compared to my galaxy watch that I bought 3 years ago! The only real issue is the battery life. If you wear the watch at night and all day it doesn't last long at all.

The watch is extremely responsive. In addition, it tends to last me close to 40 hours even with all of the features turned on continuously, but this could vary depending on your usage case. The watch is extremely comfortable to wear, even when sleeping and is very accurate with most of its sensors. Though, I do feel BIA isn't accurate, but it is consistent and I recognize that BIA is not reliable in many form factors.

Good Upgrade From S3 Frontier

Well, I preordered the GW4c on Aug 12th 2021. Didn't get the device till late Sept. This watch isn't too bad of an upgrade from my S3, but there are good things and bad things but mostly good.
Pros:
- Battery is holding up
- Having a better app store is pretty nice
- Voice to text is a lot better than the S3
- HRM is 3x faster
- Can swim with it
- Native Flashlight
- Lighter and less bulky than the S3
- Responsiveness of the OS is 50-100% faster than the S3.
Cons:
- Removal of MST
- OS has alot of bugs
** Main bug for me is with all gestures off, screen turns off with the slights downward movement or twist. Had watch sent in and only had a minor component fixed but not software bug. If this bug gets fixed in an update I'll be set and happy.
** Timer doesn't work properly during a call
- Timer app has only presets and last 3 timers used instead of custom presets like on Tizen
- The charge time is significantly higher than the S3 charge Time.
All in All I love the watch. Going from a Gear 2 to an S3 Frontier was a bigger step, but going from an S3 to a GW4 classic, not as big of a step but its worth it as far as having more of a future with the app store and better OS performance. Don't get me wrong, I loved the S3 and the Tizen ecosystem, but app support was not all there.
I hope that this review helps anyone wanting to upgrade from and S3 Frontier.

I'm enjoying this watch. I had a galaxy watch active 2 prior and did not plan on getting a new watch. Then comes the galaxy watch 4 classic. Not too heavy. Battery life has been pretty good. I love all of thr features. This was definitely worth the upgrade. Keep up the good work Samsung.

I bought my Galaxy 4 at best buy 2 months ago.
I've been using it since then and it's been helpful on my daily activities such as gym, work, commutes to work. I also wear it to sleep to track my sleep and so far it's been good. I charge my watch once a day and it last me about 12 hours. It's a fast charger so within 10 min I'm about 40%.

I bought this watch 2 months ago and I absolutely love it. I used to have a fitbit and I will never go back. It has so many great features. My favorites are calling, texting, GPS and taking pictures from your phone. All on the watch! The calling and texting comes in handy because I'm an electrician and I'm in crawl spaces and hate to bring my phone down/up there. The camera come in handy because you can prop your phone up and take the pictures from a far. So your in all the photos you take! But there are so many other great features and accessories for your watch

I've had, and generally liked, my predecessor Samsung Galaxy Active2 watch. And, boy am I glad I never mailed it as my trade-in.
The Watch4, its features, Samsung/Google software, and 3rd-party development, do not (individually or in total) exist at a stage that's suitable for a product that's ready to be sold.
The watch itself: Samsung bands don't hinge in a way that provides a good fit for smaller wrists. Battery life (for the large version) is not as good as the Active2.
The built-in software: Minimalist, at best.
The pre-installed watchfaces: All crap. Mininal data presentation. No way to see data I could previously access in complications on my Watch2, like steps distance, calories burned in day, floors climbed. No real-time presentation of much sensor data (like SpO2).
3rd-party watchfaces and apps: Major apps (like GolfPadGPS) not yet available. Play Store watchfaces market is just starting. Very few options. No Samsung Store at all. No re-use of Watch2 faces possible.
Come back in 6 months. Maybe the Watch4 will have finally caught up the Active2.

Had my GW4 classic for a week, i love it, the only things i dont like is thst when i use my watch solo, it over heats when calling, listening to spotify with sony wireless head phones, as soon i disconnected from phone 30 seconds later over heating messege, you can only use it with bluetooth with phone, and wifi, no LTE or it will over heat, one more thing i dont like battery, it dies pretty quik, i use my watch alot when working or in meetings so tbst i dont hsve to get my phone out, calls and text, i took of my watch of the charger like at 10am this morning, its 1:47pm now, and watch is at 50%, and thats cuz i took a nap for like an hour, havent realy used it, so with in less than 4 hours it lost 50%, other than this 2 things i love it, wish they would add a camera on future watch, expand battery life, to be able to add pictures on face watch background like of my family, louder speaker, i dont think its loud enough

I traded in my Galaxy Watch Active 2 for the Galaxy Watch Classic 4. I got the 46mm because I have a decent size wrist. Now, I also have the GW3 and I must say that I prefer the GWC4. I love the design of it to me it looks more futuristic and more modern. You can wear it to the gym or to a party it looks good for either occasion. The software runs smoothly. At first there was a bit of a lag, but now I haven't had a problem. I use this to track my steps while I'm at work or when I go to the gym and it does a good job of tracking my workouts. It lasts me all day so the battery for me isn't really a problem.

Buying experience was a joke... Pre-ordered it in August, than was delayed until then end of September. I'm still waiting on my watch bands. The watch itself is everything you expect, which is great. Fit and finish is well executed. Software is smooth.

The watch itself is nice but the watch band selection is terrible. The choice are either a plastic piece of crap or a leather band. You have to go aftermarket to get a metal band. But you can't get a 20mm metal band like what comes with the watch, you have to get a slightly smaller band. Also the battery doesn't last as long as the Galaxy Watch.

I brought this when it went on presale and i like it better than my old Galaxy Watch, the watch 4 Classic has so many new features like the body composition, the ECG, and the blood oxygen. I like how the Blood Oxygen levels record as I sleep as well as tell my phone to record snoring data.

I was really disappointed when I received this watch... I bought it expecting a major upgrade with it, but the first thing I noticed, I cannot download the watch faces that I paid for with my trade in watch. I bought this watch, wanting to use the ECG feature, but did not see the fine print where you also had to have a Galaxy phone to use some features. The battery seems to not last as long with this watch as well.
Overall, I can't recommend!

Battery life is on point! After one day use I still have over 80% which last over 5 days with decent use. Watch is pretty responsive from phone, previous watches seem to have a glitch or late responses. Also, having the extras for the health benefits doesn't hurt. If you want the top watch in the game for 2021 look no further!
