I've been using the Galaxy Watch 4 since its release and I have been quite happy with it as an overall smartwatch. It does some things very well, like notifications for texts, emails, phone calls, and NFC payments. It has some great aesthetics too, like numerous watch faces to choose from and band styles that are easily interchangeable.
Now for what its terrible at: Heart rate monitoring
The heart rate is used to approximate calories burned along with other factors. This is a feature active individuals, like myself, rely on when exercising, or simply staying on top of daily heart health. In no uncertain terms, the watch simply sucks at monitoring the heart rate. The watch is totally terrible at providing a constant update to the heart rate. For example, as I'm doing a set of weighted chest presses, the watch shows my heart rate is elevated, which is expected. The rate displayed is approximately close to what I feel and calculate in my pulse. As I sit and relax and my heart rate lowers, the watch completely fails to reevaluate this change in heart rhythm fast enough. Nearly 2 minutes after my exercise set and the watch still shows the same elevated heart rate, but I can feel my pulse and simply calculate that my heart rate has dropped significantly, but the watch has no clue and hasn't adjusted the rate. The watch almost needs 3-5 minutes to accurately recalcuate, and by that point you've moved on. You need to remove the watch from your wrist, so that it doesn't detect your pulse anymore, and reattach it for the sensors to take a new evaluation, and this won't happen for several more minutes. All of this means that the approximate calories burned during your exercise are WAY off. Until this is fixed, I cannot recommend this watch to anyone looking for a fitness tracker. As a simple smartwatch, it's great. For a fitness tracker, it's simply terrible.

My husband and I are both swimmers, I thought this would be the perfect fathers day gift for him. Our local pool is only 16 meters, and the lowest you can set the pool length to is 20 meters. But the highest is 200 meters. Who has a 200 meter pool?? Clearly they didn't know what they were doing when they set up the settings. We are now returning because without the correct measurements all the data is inaccurate anyway. Such a bummer. It looks really nice and seems to be working perfectly, if the software settings were better we would be totally happy with it.

I love this watch and I'm so glad I bought it. The Galaxy 4 Classic is wonderful. It does everything I want and looks great also. However, I have a Google pixel 6 phone and for some reason the ECG and Blood Pressure app doesn't work with the Pixel. Who knows why?! But I would still recommend it.

Nothing works right except the clock should have spent 60 on a regular watch gives a bogus heart rate sound quality sucks messages and emails dont come through till the next day if at all will be switching to apple after this and suggest that if you are looking for a watch that does what the manufacturers say its does dont go with this watch

Battery life is so poor, it can't be used for it's intended purpose. Can't get more than 9 hours of life, which means it needs to charge all night. So why do they include sleep tracking if you can't ever use it? I can barely get through a work day with the battery, let alone go out for an evening afterward. Now comes the fun part. I've had to re-install this phone 5 times in ONE DAY!!! The phone just keeps rebooting on it's own, or it won't connect to the WEAR app on my phone. I'm packing it up and returning it. Don't buy, complete waste of money.

I upgraded my Frontier 3 through ATT and I have to say, it was an absolute mistake. So far, I've gone through:
-One replacement watch a day after I bought it
-The brand new replacement watch had to be sent in for service not 3 months later
-A gaggle of bugs
-A downgrade in features from the Frontier.
Beyond the lack of support from Samsung Technical support, I've been just struggling to think how anyone is actually enjoying this watch. I need to offer the following for any consumer:
- The battery life is horrendous. Especially if you have it on a data plan.
- I've experienced an issue with the rotating bezel where it stops working after 3-4 days of continuous use. A reboot is the only thing that fixes it.
- You cannot get notifications if it does not detect your wrist. So if you generally use a watch cuff, have a dark tattoo in the sensor area, or have dark skin, you are SOL.
- Connectivity to bluetooth in general is just awful.
- Even with WearOS, lack of apps still plagues this thing.
Overall: Do not buy. At all. Ever.

I love my Galaxy watch3 but I bought it mainly for the ecg and blood pressure features. I contacted Samsung about why it was not working on my Iphone and I was told that it would be released soon. So I decided to keep it and not to return it. I really like this watch and its features but it was pretty expensive. It will be worth it once the Blood Pressure and ECG update for Iphones is released. This watch is constructed very good and I expect it will last a long time. Once the bp is released for the iphones I will upgrade this watchs' review to a full 5 stars on everything. Way to go Samsung.

I bought this watch for the ECG feature to track my occurrences of atrial fibrillation. I have followed all instructions and the ECG function does not work. What a disappointment. A repair shop wasn't even able to get the feature working. I like the watch but it just doesn't do what they say it does. The battery life isn't that good either.

As noted in other reviews, a significant downgrade IMO from the Galaxy Watch 3. I agree with all the other reviewers on the most important points. Horrible battery life (46mm Classic) - someone said you can literally see the battery drain, and I agree. You'll be lucky to get through a day. If you want to monitor your sleep cycle with this, you'll need to charge it a couple of hours sometime before you go to bed, and then again when you wake up. Best get a couple of chargers, for charging at work and at home.. I can only imagine the battery life in the 40mm.
Very poorly organized interface as well, beginning with the mish-mash of apps you need to scroll through to get anywhere. And speaking of apps, very sparse selection - Samsung may think they've partnered with Google, but it's abundantly apparent that Google does not agree. And literally NOTHING is explained about how to do anything setting up this watch - coupled with the fact that nothing will import from any other Samsung watch you have. You'll need to set up Samsung Pay all over again, you will have no watch faces (other than the elsewhere mentioned bloated list of included "cute" faces that are un-deletable, that only a 14 year old girl would wear), and downloading other watch faces (if you can find any) involves an arcane, multi-step process of paying vendors "croissants" and "wine," and many of the faces linked through Samsung's own Wearable app are incompatible.
The Google Play store has literally thousands of apps - only a few of which are compatible with this watch - and you will have only very basic apps, most of which duplicate what's already (minimally) installed. I could continue, but having spent the better part of a day trying to get this hot mess of hardware and software working, I'm frankly too tired. Rant off, there are some improvements in the health measurement components, and it may or may not be marginally faster (if it is, it's barely detectable, but benefit of a doubt). It's also lighter than my Titanium 3. So I'll be keeping it and hoping for some huge updates, but this effort is almost an embarrassment to call an "improvement." It does tell time, so there's that.

I bought this product a month ago and since then I have been using this device, this tracks my hear rate and all my workouts while I'm at gym and tracks my sleeping patterns too. I check my BMI every week using this watch which is a great feature that exists only in watch 4

I'm older and mostly bought this for the health tracking. First watch. My phone is always on me or nearby so I don't need all the notifications or extra apps. I use my phone for all that or my S7 tablet.
I set it up yesterday, put it in battery saver, chose a dark screen face, fully charged it after updates etc. Turned on continuous heart rate and turned on blood o2. Swiped down for bedtime and poked that and it tracked my sleep and blood o2.
So since full charge yesterday around 5 PM and its now 11AM the next day, still have 62% battery and I poked at it a little last night and today. If it stays this way, I'm good with it and will keep it. I have hearings aids I have to charge every day, charge my phone everyday, so if I get a couple days out if this that's fine with me.
I know other folks use theirs hard, or for lte etc., so I'm just describing my use.
On shipping, not so hot. Shipping box wasn't sealed shut just the tabs struck in. Fedex whacked the box and it had a hole in it, but the watch wasn't damaged. I ordered the leather hybrid strap, thought they'd at least install it, that was a little wrestling match for old fingers.

If you are looking to use the ECG feature but don't have a Samsung Galaxy phone then don't buy this watch. The ECG feature only works with Galaxy phones.

I brought my galaxy watch4 classic a few months ago. My only complaint is that it doesn't work with Google voice number. I use Google voice for business I have a different phone number for my business using Google voice and I can't get calls and text on my watch. Very inconvenient. Otherwise, I love my watch for all other features.

Im upset, i have alot of Samsung products, but these galaxy watches are a fail! So i traded in my galaxy watch 3 as a promotional deal with Verizon had and got the (GW4C) galaxy watch 4 classic. I was so excited, but when i got home and started setting it up the GW4C went into cool down mode. Didn't think much of it until i made a called to my mother and was talking to her from the LTE GW4C. 6 minutes and the connection was lost. Looked at the LTE GW4C and cool down mode it was. So took it back too Verizon and got the regular galaxy watch 4. Again excited and the same thing, cool down mode. Now i read reviews and forums and even seeing some photos of burns on someone's arm is really upsetting. I'm fixing on going to the media because Samsung knows about this and fails to fix the problem. Samsung get your act together and fix this issue. Samsung you know this issue is here, it's all over the internet. We as consumer's needs to, email, and call Samsung, let them know they need to resolve this issue.

I freaking love this watch and it made me even happier that I finally made the switch from Apple!!! Not only is the screen of this watch beautiful and super bright, but the battery battery is incredible in this thing!! I love how easy it is to use with the scroll wheel around the face, and the software makes me forget about my apple watch all together! The fit is great, not only looking great on my wrist but is also comfortable. I surprise people when I use the watch because they thought it was a normal watch. Thanks Samsung for making a truly great product that actually is helpful instead of a nuisance! Stylish and functional!
