I am absolutely loving this watch...I use it daily for tracking steps, reading notifications, sending short replies to text messages, taking calls, setting reminders, alarms,cooking timers etc. I dont use it for sleep tracking since its not that accurate, espwcially the deep sleep tracking...I keep the always on display ON and usually charge the watch when i go to bed so i am never running low on battery.

I bought the original Galaxy watch over a year ago and was quite happy with it but I pulled the trigger on the Active2 when I saw that it supported ECG measurements (I have afib) and works with Smart Caddie for calculating golf yardage (I also golf). Battery life is better than I expected (unless I use Smart caddie, which can use up a lot of juice) and the health monitor is really slick. I also have the Samsung S9 cell phone so the two devices communicate and compliment each other nicely.

I have had my watch now about 6 months. I love how it challenges me health wise. I've lost several pounds. I really love it helps track so many things even the REM sleep. My job does not allow us to use our phone during work hours this helps me track important messages and phone calls just in case something important does happen!!My old watch did not do that. The battery life is awesome as well as all the extra accessories you can buy to really bling it out even more!! I only buy Samsung products I have NEVER owned Apple products nor do I have the desire to. Samsung's quality and technology is outstanding there is no other thing I even want!! Thank you for supplying all my needs for years now starting with an S5.

Inexplainable Water Damage. Don't Buy.

avoid use in water! when this watch works, it's good. i bought it to track my swim workouts and golf. however, after having it for a year and 2 weeks, the screen blanked. once i sent it to the samsung repair center, they said there was water damage to the led screen and mother board. all i kept hearing was "warranty doesn't cover water or physical damage," but i used the watch as directed and advertised, and it just decided to let water in? now i'm having to pay +$200 to have it fixed, with no explanation of how water got in and hoping it doesn't happen again. overall bad experience considering i've bought samsung devices since the galaxy 1. probably the last time i spend money on their products after this.

purchased as i was hoping this would be an upgrade to an older generation golf watch from another manufacturer. the older watch is not only easier to use, it provides the data i need while on the golf course. it constantly looses track of what hole i am playing, caysing me to have to make changes at least every 4 holes. the hole view map, is too small to be of any use. i could go on, but then that would be deating a dead horse.

i bought this for the golf feature and as another reviewer pointed out the yardages are consistently about ten yards off. others i play with who use other apps tend to show similar yardages from the same spot whereas mine are off. all of the other features work well but this is the golf model so the one thing that should work perfectly every time is unfortunately falling short, literally by ten yards

after 3 months the watch notified me that it was overheating and would shut down. i discovered that the sensor cover had fallen off. i called samsung and they said to send it in under warranty. like others, we were notified that it had liquid damage and the warranty had been voided. i had the same ridiculous argument that everyone else has had. obviously, the liquid damage was caused by the sensor cover falling off. in case you are not aware, there is a small square in the watch that is called a ldi (liquid damage indicator) that changes color when it detects moisture. even high humidity will cause the ldi to change color. once that ldi changes color, samsung voids your warranty and charges you for the repair.

after using it for about 3 months i find that i love the watch. display is gorgeous, detail is great and the colors are vibrant. even in full sunlight i can see the watch information easily, with or without sunglasses. took it down two stars for the golf application. it is clunky and a bit unreliable. - challenging to get it started because the gps takes forever. - hit or miss whether it locates correctly on the course - may or may not keep the score i use golfpad, which has a watch app (connects through phone). i compared the two and find smart caddie to be more difficult to use overall. in retrospect i should have bought the non-golf active and put my own golf app on it.

really enjoying this watch with smart caddie installed. the golf app is nicely designed for easy use with minimal interruptions to the game. mostly i use the gps distance to green which is the default screen. readings compare favorable to garmin handheld unit i also have. when different i suspect the watches slope reading is the reason. map view when needed works great with very clear graphics. score keeping is efficiently handled as well. like the colored green elevation view as well. watch is great off the course as well for health and activity tracking. using it with iphone and installed samsung apps. when used with iphone, there are a few limitations like not being able to respond to texts on the watch, but for me, that is not a priority. so far very satisfied.

this watch is advertised as an activity watch that may be used for swimming among other activities. i will report to you that i took the watch in the water one time with the water lock mode enabled and it broke the watch. samsung refuses to cover the cost of the repair saying that water damage is outside the scope of the warranty.

the watch itself is nice overall. sure it can be a little sluggish at times and the battery life is just okay, but it is useful and customizable. but it loses one star for making customers wait about a year for the ecg feature to work, (one of its biggest selling points) and loses one more for when finally rolling it out, the ecg only works on samsung phones but they dont say that upfront when you buy it. contacted customer service who did send a website with a lengthy process and multiple installs on pc to "try" to make it work. no one should have to do that. so dont expect the phone to have full functionality when purchased, unless you have samsung, then kudos to you.

i bought this watch for the golf feature. i should have just purchased a range finder. the gps feature is only accurate about 40% of the time. today it showed i was 126yds away. i kept looking at the watch & selected the club for me at that distance. my shot came about 20yds short. i looked again at the watch and it showed 143yds. so i started comparing the watch to the course markers. it was rarely correct and was off from 6 to 30 yards per marker. the battery only last about two rounds. the golf caddie software is pretty much useless. it doesn't compute your handicap or even link up to ghin. it doesn't give you any useful info on your shots or any suggestions of club selection thru the watch, website or app. the watch ban buckle pinches the skin and is not really comfortable.

this watch was great for the first 2 months, but just after the 2nd month, the battery must have went bad. i wore this watch in the pool (4 ft deep) once, maybe twice. spent too much on this watch for it to only give me 2 good months of use. hopefully this isn't normal and is just a faulty device.

i currently use a garmin s40 for golf and fitbit for fitness. after 5 year my fit bit breaks so i wanted to try a smart watch to combine fitness and golf. i like the functionality of the active 2 and i like they way works. the only issue i have is i purchased this watch in july and i have already returned it twice for repair. the same problem both times. the plate over the heart rate sensor keeps coming off. the first time they fixed if for free. the second time they want a credit card just in case its not covered under warranty. they charge my card and don't call me. i would not pay $ 81 to fix it. i just spent $300 and had to return it twice in 2 months.

the hardware itself is decent, but it sucks that you have a limited amount of apps you can install. also, the samsung health app wont even let you see your daily/weekly/monthly caloric burn. such a basic statistic, yet there's no way to track it.

Great golf watch with a caveat

I have had this watch for a few weeks now. I have owned one samsung fitness watch previously and a fitbit versa (first version). Coming from a fitbit versa, I will say I will miss the fitbit app when tracking exercise; however, the samsung app provides essentially the same information in a different format. The screen resolution is nice and vibrant. Even in the sun with sunglasses, I can see the watch clearly. The bezels are not intrusive whatsoever. Colors are vibrant as well. As a smart watch, this is probably the best one on the market which gives it a rating of 5 stars. The reason I removed one star is for the golf aspect of it. The golf app is not very touch sensitive and a bit tough to use. Sometimes the tracking does not work. I had a round last week and once I was done, I went to look back at it and it was not recorded. This is the whole reason why the watch is more expensive than its counterpart. I do like the aluminum instead of stainless steel so that could be another reason to buy this one over the regular edition. I do recommend the TaylorMade app instead called MyRoundPro. It is free to use and it gives much more information that the golf app that comes with this watch. I will keep attempting to use both and maybe edit this review later. For now, do a comparison between this watch and the regular edition and see if the extra cost benefits you. For me, I love the watch but the golf piece of it (specifically the application) is ok, which is reason enough to take away 1 star.
