Great feature but bad quality for the case

i bought galaxy watch s2 classic platinum 2 years ago. i rarely use it on daily, i only use it on weekend. but few month ago i find the body of my watch got peeled off and the button become rusty (yellow). I never use this watch for doing sport. so it impossible because of my sweat. really disappointed with this product, hope that i can get this repaired.

Can't lock your screen unless you take off the watch. If the screen turns off it should have the option to lock the watch.. And let's not get to the battery.. Sad sad.. Have to TAKE off the watch every 4to6 hrs just to charge the thing, lose track of my steps taking it off to RECHARGE... this watch is just a piece of junk.. sorry yeah just worthless ... regret switching from the gs1 which had a back up battery pack....

When i got the GearS classic i was very happy for the first 2 day's it did everything and more after about 40hrs of having it i noticed that when i put my arm down the screen would display Gray and when i raise my arm The Screen which return to the original color of the watch face I had the next morning The screen head light gray and dark gray stripes like a peppermint after factory resetting it it got worse and worse to the point where the whole screen was just gray and dark gray mind you I was sick in bed never got up never got it wet never hit it on anything in the screen just went out

I have to say it is not something that I would have went out and purchased myself, but so glad I received it as a Christmas Gift. Very easy to use and so convenient. I have the 3g/4g version and love the fact I don't need my phone to stay in contact. The sound quality is great, I have been told that it sounds better than when I call on my phone.

Voice To Text Feature very lack luster

Main reason I wanted this was so that I don't have to pull out my phone to respond to text messages. Talk to Text using the Gear is very cumbersome and difficult to use. Worst of all the voice to text is really bad and in my usage about a 50% failure rate. I like the look and feel and the battery life is excellent just wish the features were better and app library bigger.

Great Watch, Not So Great Fitness Device

First, let me be clear about what my review centers on. Fitness first, watch second.. I have owned several fitness devices and watches: Apple Watch Original and Series 1, Fitbit; Charge 2, Charge HR, Charge; MI Band original and HR; Microsoft Band 3; Soleus GO; and so on. I work out daily on an elliptical. I track all of my food intake using MyfitnessPal. All of the devices I've had that measure heart rate pretty much agree; heart rate from about 110 at a slow pace to about 145 at maximum. Resting heart rate about 62. According to "the formula" my maximum heart rate should be about 155. The Fitbit app is wonderful and shows how many calories I burn daily. I lost 25 pounds over 6 months using this information. The Gear S2 (Classic, model 732) is a a very nice "watch". It has never lagged or slowed down that I have observed. Notifications are passed on from my Honor 8 Android phone and work great. There are hundreds of Watch faces available, both free and paid. So as a watch, it is great. As a fitness device, it falls flat. The heart rate monitor is often grossly off. It has recorded a heart rate of 204 while I was sitting completely still for an hour. While on my Elliptical, it often reports heart rates of 190-205. Since I'm a Senior Citizen, if that heart rate were true I'd probably be dead or at least in the hospital. I thought I may have gotten a defective Gear S2 since I got it used. So I bought a new one. Same thing. I also tried an S2 T-Mobile model (735T), which is very large BTW. Same thing. So, if you want to accurately monitor your HR and by extension calories burned, don't bother. As an aside, S Health is not a good way to monitor calories burned or consumed. It's food database is limited and there is absolutely no way to view how many calories you burn daily. It's integration with popular apps (like MyFitnessPal) are non-existent, except for a lot of apps you've never heard of. No integration with wireless scales either (at least none that you've heard of). Some of the data is there in bits and pieces but good luck adding it all up and getting a coherent answer. So if you're looking for a fashion statement/watch which has a little bit of fitness data available, it's a good deal. If you're even semi-serious about it's use it as a fitness device, pass.

The watch is fine except it is constantly asking for my pin. Once I put the watch on and enter the pin, there should be no need to reenterr the pin unless the watch is removed from the wrist I have the fitness notifications turned off but it keeps telling me to get moving, strech and how many steps I have taken.

Over all, this product is great. I like the fit and design. It is fairly easy to operate but the text to speech is a tad slow and add sometimes incorrect. The automatic response phrases for texting is slightly twitchy.

This watch was everything I expected it to be. The applications are all great, however, there is room for improvement. The watch lacks integration and freedom of using other applications. In my opinion the watch was too small for my wrist, so I returned it for the Samsung Gear S3. This is the best smart watch on the market and Samsung did an amazing job with it. The only reason I returned it was for the size (I have huge hands) and chose to go with the S3. Besides that, the screen resolution is nice as well as the toggle used to switch between apps and the different types of keyboards. Samsung engineers really did a great job including all these features into such a small device. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Gone are the days when you had to pull out your wallet or mobile for payment. I absolutely love the feature to pay with my watch and its good that it still requires a pin to be entered on the watch to make it secure. Battery lasts atleast 3 days which is very good for a smart watch. I also like the fact that i can use the dial bezel for navigation instead of using my finger to block my reading view. The one feature which required an improvement was the dial size which was bit too small for my liking. But seems Samsung read the reviews and increased the dial size on the new galaxy s3. Good job.. you should prolly have an option for customers to upgrade by returning s2 and getting the new s3 and paying some price diff... your loyal customers will love that.. ;)

I've been using a Galaxy Gear smartwatch since the first Gear came out. Previously, I had the Gear 2 Neo, and I loved it... until I got the S2 Classic. The Gear S2 looks great. One of my gripes with the previous smartwatches was that they looked like a smartwatch. I'd hear the jokes: "Is that a phone on your wrist?" etc... but now with the S2, it looks much more like a classic watch. Beyond the looks though, is the capability. It does everything I need a smart watch to do, and it does it fairly well. I would have liked to see more battery life, but with the size of the watch, it makes sense. I am able to get through a full day, but just barely sometimes. This is where it loses a star for me. Also, I love that it is easier for developers to make new watch faces. This gives us much more variety and it is really easy to change between the different faces to change up the style. Overall, I really like this watch, and will use it for quite awhile. I would recommend this to a friend.

This is a handsome watch with a more user friendly design (I like the moveable bezel) but what I wanted the most was completely lacking, and that is integration with the applications i use the most on my phone and desktop - applications which are highly available on the smart watch I owned previously. I should have done more research to understand the software limitations of the otherwise lovely smartwatch.

Two schools of thought: if you're looking for a fancy watch; the platinum is very classy. As for features, I'm disappointed that you can't make or receive calls on the platinum. It's Bluetooth only. When I'm at home or leave my phone in the locker at gym, Bluetooth is out of range. Features: I would like the qwerty keyboard. Platinum doesn't have it. Pricing: for features, the platinum is not worth it. You could get a lower end watch that offers the same features. For the style, the price is worth it. I keep the watch because it's classy, but disappointed in the features.

This is an amazing watch to pair with any phone. However, if you do not use a Samsung phone, you will lose some features (cannot send text messages). I recommend changing out the watch band, but I just dislike leather bands.

I like the design, the ability to check text and email without having to pull my phone out and look at all the time is great, but there is so much more it could do. SVoice needs some serious help, the word recognition is deplorable, and it freezes up and will not even start up without restarting the watch. The only real navigation app drained the battery from full charge to dead in less than 5 hours even after I closed the app, uninstalling fixed the issue, but now I have no navigation app. Don't get me wrong I enjoy having the S2 but there have been more than a few times in the last few days I have almost returned it for a refund.

Expensive smart watch with low usefulness

The design of this watch is very classy and in most ways, it's functional. The rotating bezel is a great concept, although takes getting used to. The apps are few and between, but if you do use a few apps, it will drain your battery in half a day. The battery drain is a negative impact for a person that wants to do more than have a few nice watch faces (which there are a lot of nice ones). Once you connect your personal email, and maybe work email, and then use the SHealth app, etc, the battery just drains. I suspect just having ESPN and/or Flipboard apps sitting on the Gear S2 Classic, were draining the battery in the background. I will test this theory and remove them if I can... I also bought a Gear Fit 2, and actually like how if sits on my wrist, and so far, seems to have way better battery life. This could be due to not using any third-party apps on it.

I was just learning to love my Samsung Gear 2 Classic when all of a sudden it overheat on its charging dock and the screen would no longer function. The design of the watch is close to perfect. The size and look and the standard watch face make a statement that most other wearable just don't. So many compliments on my new watch. The ability to request an Uber, keep track of my fitness goals, answer calls, and respond to texts by voice got me hooked. Just wish it hadn't "died" on me like that. Hopefully Samsung repair service is up to snuff and I get my watch back fully functional.. I would then have to come back and amend my ratings.

I am a samsung fanboy but honestly, when it came to the smart watch I wasn't impressed in the past. I used a MOTO360, now that the S2 series is out I own two of them. I love everything about them, ease of use and so on. I love the fact that when I'm away from my phone it will connect over any network available too.

I love my gear s2. Very stylish, great look, works excellent. I love if you can customize the bezzel not only the bands.

I had to turn in my Note 7, and so I decided to make lemonade out of a lemon. I love Samsung, so I knew I would just go grab the 7 Edge, which I did. I have been wanting to try the Samsung watches but I really thought it would be more a purchase of pride than a truly useful tool. I have had the watch on for just two working days now. WHERE HAS THIS BEEN ALL MY LIFE!! I work from home and spend a lot of time wading through email chains, messages, and calendar appointments. The time this watch has already saved me is undeniable. Try it! I was a true skeptic, but it has won me over in a week and where I needed a win from my Samsung products.
