Got this watch a few years ago and I absolutely love it. I also have the gear sport but I keep finding myself wearing it more that the sport. I also own the log urbane but none compare to this watch. It has a speaker to make a noise for notifications and you can make calls with it!!

Although it may not have as much flexibility as an Android wear watch, it is still a very strong competitor and in a lot of cases it is better than android wear watches. Battery life is decent when not in power Saving mode, sometimes it will die quickly for no reasons but I've only seen that rarely. It really all depends how you use it but when in power saving mode I've noticed the battery can last up to 3 days which is extremely convenient and helpful. It can also be used as a back up phone which in my opinion is its best feature of all, plus the water resistance just makes it an even more useful and convenient product. There is a lot more reasons why this is an amazing product, but I just wanted to share my opinions on a few of my favorite features that this product has to offer.

I have had the gear s2 for over a year now. I work in construction so while it's not still pretty, it's still functional. It came with Samsung Milk. When that was discontinued, there was no replacement for it. The mic has quit working but everything else still works. it's been through a lot.

No one was more excited to have a Dick Tracy watch than me. The reality of the Gear S2 is disappointing. Initially, the battery life was fine--a full day, plus. Now, a year in to it, it's an exercise in frustration. The S2 burns through a full charge in 2 to 3 hours. I've done all the things that are supposed to make it better, like updates, restarting, factory reset, etc. Nothing helps. Samsung "customer service" is a laugh. Now, I hate this idiotic watch that's only useful for a couple hours a day. I've only used the Samsung charger, so I can't imagine why it's not working right. VERY frustrating. Do they still make Timex??

When I bought this. I thought I knew what I would use it for. It has exceeded my expectations and I find myself using it more and more in my day. It ended up having features I did not know I wanted until I started to use them. A year in and I still am excited to put it on each day. Battery still has great life and the updates keep it running smooth. Not to mention it has helped a few times When I left my phone and needed to make a call. Works great with my Bluetooth headset, so I do not have to bother others when I take calls on it.

The good: I am able to talk on my phone and it is clear on both ends of conversation. I like the ability to set one of my photos as the watch face. The ability to connect your cell phone to the watch. The bad: I have had the watch for 3 weeks and I have had to do 2 factory resets due to the phone disconnected from the watch and then myself along with 2 different Verizon employees had issues to pair it again. The battery dies not last the full day. I was told my watch would need to be replaced if the issues happens again. I didn't pay the price of the watch to get a refurbished watched.

I am a Samsung user from t.v.'s, phones and now the Gear s2. I love them all. Samsung is by far my favorite technology. I will continue to purchase their products. Now the s2, I love the ease of use and the many features that it has. The one complaint is aps. It has iheart radio, but unfortunately you can not use this one no longer. Slacker radio had taken its place. You can download slacker for a monthly fee. I got the watch for many reasons. Main was for fitness. The reason I didn't get a fitbit. It's a little frustrating when you purchase a product for its add on features but are unable to use. Will it makes me return it? No probably not. But can a update fix the problem? I know the s3 us coming soon and the problem I am sure will be fixed on there. But I will not run out and buy it solely for that reason. Being someone that buys Samsung products on a regular basis would be nice if this review didn't fall on deaf ears. Please look into this matter. Make the changes please up date the s2 to slacker radio.

I want to Love this watch but the battery on this is Poor. From the time I put it on in the AM around 7am till the time I leave my home to head off to work at 745am it goes from 100% to 90%. By 6pm I'm down to about 30%. Other from It's a great watch to have. If only the battery would last a full day I would get another for my wife.

I had been thinking about getting a smartwatch for a while and, after kicking the Moto 360 to the curb, bought the Gear S2. More watch faces, useful apps and iPhone connectivity on the S2 told me I had made the right choice. The rotating bezel used to navigate thru the interface is a little daunting but once you get used to it you don't know how you lived without it.

I love the design and features of the watch. Battery life could be better. I have to charge every night, not a big deal but if I forget to charge it then it dies by noon the next day. My biggest complaint might be with Verizon rather than Samsung but I wish the watch could sync with my phone to always use my cell phone number. As long as I'm connected by Bluetooth there isn't a problem. If my phone died or I leave my phone in the car and need to make a call or text then it will show my watch number, not cell number that all my friends and family have saved for me. Of course the first text in response to mine will be who is this or they might not even answer the call since they don't recognize the number. If this could be resolved I would definitely have to give all 5 stars and say anyone who wears a watch or fitbit should go with a Samsung Gear S2. Overall I love it and will definitely look to upgrade when available.

I would like to see where you can add different widgets from the app category so you don;t have to go in the apps all the time. For example, I would like a quick access to the timer. The samsung galaxy s2 is one of the coolest new devices on the market. It took me all of 10 minutes to set up my new S2. When I made my first stand alone phone call the person who answered the call asked me to stop talking soo loud. Yes, it operates as a Cell Phone with it's own cell number. If you work with your hands this is a great hands free way to work and talk without interuption. There are a wide variety of useful apps available for use with the Samsung Gear S2. Flawless operation with my Samsung Note 4. My phone and GS2 now run silent (GS2 on vibrate) and I never miss a call notification. I've heard so many great things about smart watches, how cool they look and all that. Not that impressed... Samsung galaxy S2 isn't anything special. Voice command never works right. Heartbeat monitor works half the time. If you have Verizon messenger you can't even access that on the watch. You can't stream music via Bluetooth from phone to watch. No music apps like Pandera. Only way this watch is worth it, is if it was free.

Having my Gear S2 be capable of being a stand-alone phone is awesome! It was prettty easy to learn how to use the bezel feature and it's very handy. I would have given it 5 stars overall, but I have had 2 small issues with it. First, at times it will not allow me to answer a call on my phone! If I'm out in public I don't always want the whole world hearing my conversation. I actually had to turn my watch off and call the person back so I could talk on my phone. This has happened twice, and doesn't happen every time. The other issue is with the S Health app. I'd like to be able to add circuit training and horseback riding to my S2, then I wouldn't have to carry my phone with me in order to keep track of my activities. Otherwise I love it!!

I have had a Moto 360 and then I got my S2 Verizon Version. The Android Wear Voice commands on the Moto 360 are much better. I can say "Call Zack" and it figures out that I only have 1 Zack in my Contacts list and Calls it. The Samsung Voice commands just aren't as good. 2nd Thing that I wished this watch had was standard bands like the S2 Classic. The Bands you can order for it are limited and I think the Classic just looks Better. Outside of those Complaints everything works and works well. I can leave the Display on in Ambient Mode and get a Full day out of the Battery.

Had an Android Wear Watch prior to this Samsung Gear S2 (3G) Watch; so it took a week or so to get use to the subtle differences between the two OS platforms. I often wished my Android Wear Watch would work more seamlessly with my Samsung Galaxy Phones (Note Edge & now The S7 Edge)... like the S-Heath App etc. The Samsung Gear S2 (3G) Watch does just that! I can defiantly say that I like this Watch more so then my Droid Wear Watch.

I wish the cradle charged it faster and that the charge lasted longer. However, it is likely due to my inexperi e nce with it as I have only had my Gear S2 for 2 days. I truly am a Samsung afficionado--have Samsung TVs, BluRay, 2 different tablets aND a series of NOTE phones, including 2 NOTE 7s. I hope the 7 returns as I loved it/them.

I purchased my gear s2 in March and have been wearing it everyday. Love everything about it except that i wish the battery lasted longer. It does everything i want in a watch. I have read reviews about the watch not being water proof but i have washed the dishes and gave baths to the kids in the tub. The watch has been slightly submerged and it is still ticking like it was new. No issues with it. Samsung thats again for a great product.
