Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. If you can spare a few thousand dollars without batting an eyelash for new should they break tomorrow, don't buy a warranty. Peggy 8/1/2020

i am very disappointed in my samsung gear fit. the battery only last a couple of days which makes it very inconvenient. i've called several times customer support and they opened up tickets and it was very confusing on what they were doing so after three triesi decided it's not worth it.

Nearly lasted a year.

Robster411 7/7/2019

Bought this about a year and 2 months ago and had issues with it as far as battery life and turning things off that would not turn off. Now the screen went black and won't charge. Worst thing is the warranty just ran out. $200.00 down the drain.

Poor quality

SVD2 6/21/2019

I have had this watch since September of 2017 and both of the bands broke off. Mind you, I don't mean the band part itself, I mean the clips on the watch have broke so the bands don't stay connected. I cannot buy new bands because the parts it connect to on the watch are broken. I don't want to have to buy another one because the watch itself works great. Its poor quality and not worth the money. I just used gorilla glue to keep the bands attached,

Crashes, slow, and lasted less than 6 months.

PeaceIsGolden 6/10/2019

I wanted to love this because a family member loves his. I was excited when I got it, and for a short time after. Then I tried to use the GPS with map my run, and failed. Uninstalled, installed, and and tried every other app in hope I could find something that worked. From the short list of available apps map my run is the only one with the that does what I want it to but my watch just wont run it correctly. Okay fine, now it's a really expensive watch with a terrible battery time. Then I tried to charge it, and it wouldn't. Odd. Finally got it to enough to track my sleep, and the next morning when I tried to finish charging it the screen just scrolled white lines. I tried everything to get the reset screen to come up long enough to trouble shoot it but it just dims really low and eventually shuts down without me being able to touch anything. Contacting Samsung online about my warranty has failed, and so has the extended warranty I purchased. I truly expected a better device and service from Samsung.

safeGear Fit2 Pro replacement bands not available!

Sammy46 5/12/2019

I love my gear fit2 Pro. After hard daily wear for almost 2 years the band broke off at the connector. I can't find an authorized replacement band anywhere on samsung site. Why?! Replacement bands for their other smart wearables are on here. I'm unwilling to risk my Gear Fit2 Pro on some unsanctioned aftermarket watch band from another website. I've heard too many stories of those bands breaking while being worn and destroying the $200 gear fit2. ARGH. This leaves me with an absolutely beloved but absolutely useless bandless watch face. Fix This Lapse in Accessory Availability Samsung!!!!

Great until it stops workimg

Disappointed with Samsung 4/30/2019

I have owned two so far and they have both failed me. The first one failed and warranty was denied due to water damage. Aren't these supposed top be water proof? I sent in a second request, but never received a response from Samsung... I purchased a second one and it just broke down. It's either the band or the watch part, but the band cannot be attached to the watch. I'm not sure when I purchased it so I'm not sure if it's under warranty. Should I even bother with warranty as Samsung didn't even respond to my last correspondence? Should I think about buying another one? Probably not.

Fooled again!

Miss Jay 4/21/2019

This is my 2nd Samsung watch (same issue happened before). Everything starts off great and then one-day the sensors just randomly stops working. The entire reason I purchased the watch was to track my workouts and sleep; since the sensors no longer work, it's just a watch that tells time smh! I sent the watch back for repairs and they couldn't determine the cause of the malfunction, but since it was no longer under warranty they wanted me to pay for the repairs... why when you can't tell me what happened. Long story short I'm done with Samsung watches, although they look great and have great features, there are too many negative reviews and mediocre customer service at the repair center.

Samsung Fails

Ameemli 4/17/2019

I had a gearfit pro 2 and purchased it because it would be a perfect fit for my activity. I have had 3 fitbits and a garmin and until it stopped working, it was the best option. Here is where Samsung fails. There is a swim feature on her and is water resistant to something like 50 meters. This tracker has never been in water deeper than 4 feet and just recently the screen started blinking. I contacted Samsung and spent hours on the phone with a person that was difficult to communicate with. I attempted 3 times and finally stuck it out until I got my shipping label set up for my warranty. Long story short, i received a call telling me (from a script) that my tracker would need payment to fix it as the warranty was voided due to water damage. There was a flaw in this item if it received water damage because I followed all rules...How do you have a swim setting if you are resistant, not waterproof. I have no recourse on this except to post reviews and share my story everywhere. It is truly a shame because I loved the product before it failed. The biggest failure is Samsung selling a product that has such a great possibility of failing because of it's clearly, not immersive product that has a swim setting.

Motion sensor will fail

Orlando FL 4/7/2019

Steps, Heart Rate, and 'Twist Wrist to Turn On', will eventually stop. Just search online for "Gear Fit 2 Pro steps". Many feel that it's due to a software update. It still displays the time, texts, e-mails, and tells me the phone is ringing. I had to find a third party watch face, so I didn't have to stare at all the 0's taunting me. Samsung wanted $70 to send it in, (as it is 3 months past warranty) but that's half the price of new. I'm willing to wait to see what comes out from Samsung or some other company.

Lightweight yet has all the features I need

CO_hiker 2/18/2019

I have a Gear Sport watch that I like but decided to try the Fit2 and haven't gone back. The Fit2 is so lightweight that I don't even notice I am wearing it. I am a techie but still amazed at all the features in this tiny device. The stairs counter doesn't work on either of these watches, which is a small disappointment. Still an amazing product that I can't live without now.

Band Broke After Less Than One Year

katikat_ 2/1/2019

Bought it less than a year ago. The band will no longer connect to the watch face. Samsung doesn't guarantee their products so there is no warranty. They also don't make it possible to buy a replacement band. Otherwise I've generally loved having the watch. Love that it is waterproof and can get notifications from my phone. Does almost everything my husband's S3 watch does for quite a bit less money.

Has so much potential...but

NicoletteT 1/23/2019

This is my third watch. The band broke on the first watch while I was walking in the mall didnt realize and I had to replace it but I chalk that one up to my loss. The second one broke and I missed the warranty by one month and now the third band has broken and luckily it's within my warranty so I plan to contact customer service. For the amount of money that this watch cost you would think that it would have a better band or at least more options. I also find that some of the apps are very slow and Spotify for example has some kind of funky bug that it will not allow you if you don't set it correctly the first time to control your music settings. I think this watch needs some major improvements and one being a new band that last long and you don't have to worry about losing just walking down the street.

Incredibly disappointing

LydJ 1/9/2019

I purchased this in May 2018. I had two Samsung Gear 2 fits prior and both broke, one due to an accident, one because the sensor fell off. So I figured going with the Gear Fit 2 Pro would work out better since you are supposed to be able to wear it in water. Well, not even a year has passed and the piece covering the sensor has fallen off again and it's no longer reading my hr, or tracking other stuff properly. I love using the S-health app, but I'm not sure I can continue to trust Samsung fitness trackers.

Beware firmware updates

TimNii 1/2/2019

When I first got this, I loved it... until they upgraded the firmware and the step counter got flaky. After the first update, it no longer counted steps on the elliptical motion machine, and after the second (which I hoped would fix it), it no longer counted steps at all. It has great features, but until Samsung fixes its firmware, I would stay away. (5 stars prior to firmware updates, 2 stars afterwards).

Liked it while it worked

Slentz 12/28/2018

I have bought two of these, both were handled very gently at all times and both had the lens that is inside next to your skin fall out for no apparent reason. I really liked the product until that happened, both times it fell out before the 1 year warranty was up. The first time it happened I did not notice and it just started messing up, counting hundreds of flights of stairs a day and such. One would think that Samsung would stand behind what is clearly a fault in the design, however after sending in for Warranty work they classified it as "Physical Damage" and would not cover it. The watches don't even have a scratch on them anywhere and were handled gently even though it is a sports watch. I was hoping it was a fluke with the first one and did really like the product, but now that this has happened twice I have to let everyone know not to waste their money. It is a lot of money and Samsung won't stand by their products. I have always been a huge fan of Samsung, have always owned their phones and tv's, but after this I plan to switch over to Apple.

Very Happy!

HHaile74 12/21/2018

I purchased this on December 13, 2018 after previously owning the gear fit2 (small). There really aren't many "upgrades" to the Pro, however I do like the mapping when I am walking, etc. I love all the features on this tracker/watch and it seems to count my steps pretty well. I purchased different bands for it so I have a variety, also the one that comes on the watch is a bit more rigid and wasn't quite as comfortable as I would've liked. However after changing to my aftermarket band, I am extremely pleased. It has definitely made me more conscience of my activity level!

Poor Quality

mama C 12/10/2018

I love this watch and it's functions, BUT and that is a BIG BUT, I have had to send it back twice since Late June to have it repaired. The first time was only a month in to having it and the face went out. It would still count steps but you couldn't see anything on the watch face. The repair process, sending it back etc.... was easy enough and the customer service was great. I just had to send it back again. This time it was overheating to the point it would burn my wrist and the face went out again! Customer service was great and the repair process was easy again, BUT this warranty runs out in January! I feel if you have had it repaired twice in less than 6 months then the warranty should be longer! I have it back now and it is functioning but if it goes out again I will not pay to have it repaired and will not buy another Samsung wearable! I love my Samsung phones, TV, DVD etc... We buy Samsung ALOT but this product and it lifespan is no Samsung quality that you expect. I am very sad about that!

Won't repair or replace

Swimchick 12/9/2018

I got this watch as a gift, and I loved it for its water resistance and swim features... for about 6 months. Then, the display flickered vertical lines and went black. I used the online support, which recommended recharging the watch overnight and doing a full reboot to the factory settings. I did that with no luck. So, I sent the watch in to get a repair or replacement (the watch is still under warranty). After a few weeks, I received the watch back with a note from the repair center that read, "We regret that we were unable to complete the repair of your Samsung product. After performing a thorough examination of your device, it has been found to be un-repairable, due to liquid damage." Seriously, the watch is supposed to be water-resistant. This seems like your problem, Samsung.

Watch was Great, until the band fell off.

Poor Tech Sap 11/25/2018

I bought my watch on 17 August 2018. In early October 2018, I went for a run and my watch started to not work and the band fell off simultaneously. I bought the watch at a prominent retail store and purchased their protection plan, but that was bogus. Now I'm reaching out to Samsung for support. Thank you.

Suppose to be able to swim in but has water damage

1upsetconsumer 11/15/2018

I purchased this for my wife last christmas, she loved it. About 3 weeks ago the screen started acting crazy. I was 1 month from the warranty running out , so I returned for repair. I recieved back today and the letter stated 'We regret that we were unable to complete the repair of your Samsung product. After performing a thorough examination of your device, it has been found un-repairable, due to liquid damage. How can a watch that is advertised as follows have water damage from showering. 'Gear Fit2 Pro is water resistant up to 5 ATM*. And whether you choose the pool or open water, the Speedo On** app developed for Gear Fit2 Pro tracks your stats and presents them in easy-to-read summaries. *Gear Fit2 Pro has a water resistance rating of 50 meters under the ISO standard 22810:2010.' Have read this same thing happening to a lot of people online.

Not Waterproof!

brenn 10/16/2018

I bought this item and swam with it one time and it stopped working. I was only swimming in maybe 6 feet of water with the swim mode on. It is only 5 months old and should still be covered under it's 1 year warranty but Samsung refuses to repair it due to liquid damage. Myself along with many other people have experienced this same problem. DO NOT BUY!!! Samsung does not back their products and is falsely advertising this one.

NOT WATER RESISTANT!!!

JJG82 9/9/2018

I purchased this device last year and loved all its features up until I used it in my 8' pool. I was under the impression this device could be used in a pool to track laps, but unfortunately its FALSE ADVERTISING. After using it in my pool for 45 minutes the watch started malfunctioning and 1 hour later it no longer could power on. The device was sent to Samsung for service and 3 weeks later it was sent back and listed as unrepairable due to water damage! DON'T RECOMMEND, BUYER BEWARE!

The water resistant part isn't true

nicolejn87 8/22/2018

I bought this watch about 8 months ago. I loved it and loved being able to keep track of workouts and such. A couple of weeks ago it stopped working so I sent it for repair. I got a call today that there was water damage and my warranty was void so it is being sent back. I never even went swimming with this watch or really got it wet besides sweat. It's ridiculous that this is advertised as a fitness tracker for swimming when it gets water damage from sweat. I have seen quite a few complaints about this issue and Samsung has made no effort to remedy the situation. Looks like I'll start switching away from Samsung products.

Water resistant watch I think NOT

I hate gear pro 2 8/21/2018

How is a water resistant watch up to 164 ft with a swimming mode not warrantied for water damage after 6months of owning the watch? Do not get this watch wet because they will not fix it if something happens. They do not stand behind this product. Samsung kept telling me I should Never get the watch wet. Why do you have a swimming mode?Save your money buy something else.

Disappointing

AmericAnna 7/21/2018

I bought mine less than a month ago and this is the second issue that I've had. I really expected more from this watch. It stopped counting my steps within the first week. I talked with support and they had me reset it. 3 weeks later, it goes black on me and I cannot get any of the screens to come on, the green light does blink underneath and the battery is fully charged. It comes on eventually, but not from anything I do. It is totally unresponsive to button pushing. It has pushed my last button.

Great Watch, Battery Life Sucks!

C_Coleman 7/16/2018

I got my watch July 7th after a week I completely gave up on it. Day 1, I was home all day, being lazy and the watch was great. This was my first smart watch, so I was excited about how it calculated my every move; even my mini naps. Lol The next day, when I put it to the test and started my workout, the watch over heated and died within an hour. I let it charge over night and the next day it died after 4hrs. I thought it was because of specific setting that were running that could've been draining the battery. I changed the settings and recharged it again. Next day, it stills dies fast. I then decided to factory reset and set it up to use the least about of power as possible. I even kept it on Power Save Mode and it still died way too fast. Im super disappointed because this was my birthday gift to myself and now I'm sending it back for a refund. I was going to exchange, but I read some reviews where people experienced the same issues. Great watch in everyway if only the battery life was efficient.

I love this watch! I didn't buy it for the health aspect, mostly so I could get notifications, calls and texts while I'm at work at can't use my phone on the floor. Sometimes I have to charge it twice a day, but mostly just once in the morning. I love changing the watch faces. I've tried downloading some apps like a calculator just for this watch, but it won't transfer to my watch.

I cannot recommend this product for a few reasons. First and foremost, the battery life is very short. I've had it for less than two months, and the watch does not last 2 whole days (with very few options turned on!) before it needs to be charged. It seems like it spends more time charging than tracking anything. I have a Garmin that I've had for over a year, and it still lasts for almost 5 days. Second, it does not count floors even close to accurately. I just helped my parents clean out their attic and I went up and down their stairs at least 30+ times one day, and 11 floors is all that I got credit for. They have a standard 9' rise in their stairwell, so this doesn't add up. Also, it tracks what it thinks are workouts, but often they're incorrect. For instance, I worked out for 10 minutes earlier, but I was just driving. I've also gotten credit for bicycling while using my riding lawnmower. Finally, I got it so that I could run without having any additional music, which I haven't been able to do. I don't have unlimited data, so running while running a music app isn't an option, and I'm not paying more a month for this when I've already purchased music from a different platform. It's not Samsungs fault I can't easily convert the music, but it is a definite drawback. Overall, I wish I had not bought the Gear Fit2 Pro. I would return it if I could, but they only have a 30-day return policy. Save yourself the hassle, and buy something else.

I thought by paying top dollar, I would get a reliable product. It did work well for 4 months; then it just stopped working. Very disappointing.

Great for tracking fitnesd

Saltgrain 5/3/2018

I have enjoyed using this so much better than my old fitbit. Battery could last a bit longer and wish I didn't have to keep my phone with me too but love the customization options and it works with my phone seamlessly

Garbage device

Jbattelle 4/19/2018

Stay away from this, and any other Samsung Gear device. They are all garbage. The step counter works occasionally. The battery life is about 6 hours, not 2 days. I returned it after a week.

Inaccurate - but helpful

Oldladyswimmer 3/12/2018

It does not accurately track steps and when I swim, it sometimes misses laps, but overall it has been helpful. It has made me more conscious of my activity levels, water intake, sleep patterns, etc. Still love the design and many features (especially SpeedOn_

Don't Buy

MadCustomer325 2/26/2018

My GearFit went out just past the warranty, so about a year. Didn't even wear it every day. Bad product. Oh, yeah, the repair cost was going to be twice as much as buying another one! Go with something else!

BelindaClem 2/17/2018

I got this so I could have something track my steps and sync with Samsung Health. It is AMAZING. I only wish the work out options matched thoses that I chose in the app.

A little disappointed

TraciWithani 1/26/2018

Was super excited for this fitness tracker as I thought it would interact really well with my Galaxy S8, plus I needed something less bulky than the Garmin Vivosmart HR+ that I had been using. Plus, I really liked the look of the Gear Fit 2 Pro! However, the floor counting is almost non-existent. There is seemingly a bug in the way they have it programmed so that it doesn't count floors in your average house. I can climb the stairs in my two-story house or down to the basement and back up all day long and it will never count the floors. There are numerous forums on this topic. I've heard of people saying that if they raise their arm once they reach the top of the stairs that it will then count. I've tried this and it works only sometimes. Also, the battery life is terrible. I have to charge my device almost daily (my Garmin device would easily go 3-4 days between charges). And I have many of the features turned off to try and extend the battery (such as WiFi, GPS and 'always on'). I haven't even used the music playback feature yet! I do like the look of the Gear Fit 2 Pro and appreciate its lightweight and slim design. Being able to change the faces is fun and generally speaking, the other features are adequate. If Samsung would fix the floor counting and I could somehow get the battery to last longer, I'd say this is a great fitness tracker. But until then... it's just average in my opinion.

Solid performance for health oriented people.

Lallen33 12/21/2017

It's not a fashion statement. But, functionally good. I've only have a couple of software hiccups with this watch linked to my Note 8. Otherwise, I'm happy and would recommend.

Gear Fit 2 Pro has bright display, built in speakers, great music player, durable, light weight, GPS tracking, Heart rate tracking, sleep tracking & great step tracking. It easily connects to the gear a[pp on my Galaxy Note 8 phone. Also syncs well with the health app. Gear Fit Pro has a auto pick up for walking which stays on till I stop. Gear Fit Pro picks up any phone notifications including incoming calls and missed calls. Con is Gear Fit Pro only tracks 2 floors per week. No inside steps and few outside tall hills.

Great Purchase

RunMSP 11/30/2017

The Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro has been a great purchase! I love that it is low profile, comfortable, and stylish. I exercise several times a week and like the fitness tracking and continuous heart rate monitoring better than both the fitbit and the iWatch (Gear Fit2 Pro is more accurate). I LOVE that it has a standalone music player that I can use without my phone! My only complaint is that the clasp is a bit loose, but it hasn't ever fallen off. Overall, I am extremely happy with my Gear Fit2 Pro and would absolutely recommend it!

Highly disappointed.

MDR33 11/24/2017

I've had this watch for maybe 2 months now and I'm highly disappointed with it. After just 2 short months it has already stopped charging. The "long battery life" barely lasts a full day, and the watch takes a long time to charge. This watch counts maybe one flight of step for every five flights I climb. I've noticed that the step count is A LOT lower than my previous fitness tracker had always registered. I have no way of knowing which is more accurate, but considering how inaccurate this tracker is with tracking flights of steps, I'm thinking my last fitness tracker was more accurate. The app for the watch is terrible. Its extremely difficult to navigate. The only good things about this watch is that it connects well with my Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Its convenient to have the weather and notifications, however you can get that on just about any tracker nowadays. I don't understand how Samsung can call this watch a fitness tracker if it constantly fails at its main purpose. I expected better from Samsung but have been met with nothing but disappointment.
